About
I'm Rama Mbengue Sy
I'm Rama Mbengue, and I grew up in Pout, Senegal, where creativity, culture, and community all influenced every aspect of who I am. As a young child, I fell in love with hairdressing. I learned with my hands and my heart, braided pals for school dances, styled aunts for weddings, and made people feel recognized and honored. Before I crossed the ocean in 2008, my devotion opened doors and earned me Senegal's Prestige Trophy for Best Hairdresser in 2007. I came to the United States with my tools, my Senegalese heritage, and a strong conviction that beauty unites all people.
